This is a topic that many people are looking for. g4site.com is a channel providing useful information about learning, life, digital marketing and online courses …. it will help you have an overview and solid multi-faceted knowledge . Today, g4site.com would like to introduce to you Install Trailer Safety Chains. Following along are instructions in the video below:
Guys well the project for today is going to be installing these safety chains onto onto this trailer. This is a boat trailer. Ive been doing some work on we need to set a chains on it safety chains are for when youre towing in an emergency if the ball coupler filthy dirty.
If the ball coupler becomes disconnected then the chains will hold the trailer to the back of your vehicle. You might kind of bang up the rear end of your vehicle. A little bit.
You might kind of beat up the front into your trailer. But itll keep your trailer from running off.
You know down the road. Without you this is a light duty trailer. Its going to be hauling a very light boat.
Theres the boat out there its a very light aluminum boat so the chains that im gonna put on it are similar to what i put on my last. Little jon boat these came from this is a class one brake strength of 2000. Pounds these came from amazon so this is gonna be you know kind of a review on these amazon chains.
The last set that i got very similar to this i already cut the bag. The last set that i got were similar to this i got from harbor freight putting a jumbo trailer and they worked great so thats kind of what im looking for same thing again.
I really like this little spring snap on these it looks looks good on this one spring on that one looks good too so theyre supposed to be well. Theyre supposed to be four feet of chain. Here.
Lets just go ahead and stretch it out and you guys will find out with me. If thats four feet including the hooks or four feet. Besides the headaches.
Sorry im doing everything in one hand on the camera in one hand on the tape measure now so im at the end of the hook. And were at four feet okay.
So this is four feet total length from this end of the hook to the other end of the hook. Give you guys an idea. Im gonna go ahead and put this on i think how im gonna do it i havent mocked it up yet.
But i think im gonna go through this hoop. Which is welded to the tongue. I think im gonna go through that who just like that and im gonna put a link to connect the two around it so one chain were to become you know somehow detached in a crazy wild you know accident or something at least you know i dont want if one chain comes unhooked.
I dont want it to be able to pull right through so i want to attach him. But i think im gonna use i try to keep stuff on oddball stuff like this guess.
Some of these quick links from harbor freight. Its like the one that i got probably gonna work is a three sixteenths size so im gonna dig that out get it on there and ill show you what it looks like alright well. I hope you can see what i was talking about with that link there so now if one chain.
It becomes detached. I can still you know ive still got one chain hold on so and to you know to figure out where to put them i just kind of held the chain out here even pulled it up snug work my link on there and then i tighten that link up with a wrench. So thats it if you guys liked this video click that thumbs up button.
